Heathrow Airport has officially launched new security screening technology across all terminals, enabling passengers to keep liquids and laptops in their hand luggage during security checks. The rollout was completed in June 2024, following a phased implementation that began earlier this year.

This advanced computed tomography (CT) scanning system is designed to enhance both security and passenger convenience. The technology provides detailed 3D images of baggage contents, allowing security staff to assess items more efficiently and accurately.
