Heathrow Airport has introduced new biometrics-enabled security lanes in Terminal 5, aiming to streamline the passenger screening process. The system uses facial recognition technology to match travelers with their boarding passes, reducing the need for manual document checks.

This initiative is part of Heathrow’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and improve the passenger experience. The technology is designed to speed up security checks while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

Heathrow collaborated with several technology partners to implement the system, which is currently available to select international flights. The airport plans to expand the rollout to additional terminals following a successful evaluation period.
